Well we'll start at the top and work our way down, shall we? To begin with Niece looks very, very young. As in she looks as though she's about fourteen but that'll be explained in a bit more detail later on. Her hair to start with is rather long, it stretches down to her shoulders but is usually done up in a low, messy ponytail. This is usually done to keep her hair out of her face so that it doesn't get in the way when she's working or fighting. Her hair, as it happens, is a fiery red colouration and surprisingly straight and manageable, how quaint.
Her face is childish, she does look like an early teenager and across her left cheek and nose she has a large amount of freckles travelling in a line. Her right cheek is startlingly devoid of the freckles and the stop on her nose is rather jarring. Upon closer inspection her right cheek is actually slightly more pink than the rest of the pale skin of her face. In addition to this occasionally small green lines will appear on her cheek, only visible from very close or with very good eye sight. A mistake with an early prototype weapon ended up scarring her face although not in so noticeable a way.
On from this her eyes are rather normal, if slightly more pale than normal. The blue is icy even though she does her best to be friendly and occasionally her right eye has streaks of green through it as the infectious magic wracks her body. Other than this there are very few things interesting about her eyes apart from perhaps the fact that her eyelashes are naturally longer than would be expected.
Her upper body is what would be expected of perhaps a late-blooming young teenage girl. She has what appears to be little to no muscle on her, a flat stomach and a small bust. Her arms are long and slender ending with rather plain hands, if worn from many years of use with perhaps extremely dangerous materia. Her finger nails are short if well cared for while her shoulders are thin and somewhat bony.
- Lower Half:
Well here we'll work from the bottom and up. Niece's feet are small as would be expected for someone her height although as is the same with most of the rest of her body they are well cared for and groomed. This is in part because they haven't been introduced to dangerous chemicals and machinery, she had to wear shoes a lot of the time due to the fact that the floor of her workshop was usually covered in pieces of metal. The few scars that do litter the soles of her feet are testament to that.
Her legs are thin and of average length. Here there is little to no obvious muscle much the like the rest of her body. The careful grooming is of course evident as always and finally comes her hips and waist, both of which are thin. Her hips are barely noticeable due to the circumstances of her past. Other than this there is very little else to describe.
- Attire:
Once more from the top down. Nieschteri as it happens usually wears a couple of clips in her hair. These clips were fashioned by her father and resemble a cog each. She usually has these clipped to the forward left portion of her hair together in such a way that the cogs actually mesh as though they could move, of course they can't. For her ponytail she usually uses a long white ribbon tied into a bow in order to keep everything nice and together, if messy due to her lack of actual care for it.
Moving down slightly she wears a pair of earrings that are not identical. In her left ear she wears a small metal stud that doesn't seem to have anything really special about it while in her right ear she wears a dangling earring. At the actual lobe is a small diamond, under it and attached to a chain is a smaller ruby and under that with a chain is an even smaller sapphire. The actual purpose of these is that she finds them pretty but she'll usually create some kind of philosophical answer for it.
Around her neck she wears a long white enameled steel chain with an odd thing on it. It appears to be a small ring of iron with an extra spoke sticking out of it. The metal is thick but appears to be corroded heavily and on occasion it glows faintly green. On this same chain is an actual ring for wearing, it is made of silver but doesn't have anything else on it. No inscription or gemstone.
On her upper body the first layer of clothing that Niece wears is a rather fancy ruffled dress shirt. Usually reserved for males of this era, Niece honestly doesn't care. The shirts she wears are either in pink or white with the ruffles on the front and long sleeves that are belled at the bottom to fan out over her hands. Buttons sewn onto them however allow her to pull the sleeves up so that she can do work whilst also looking fabulous. Over this, when out and about she wears a dress jacket. More of a ringmaster's coat than anything else. It is always in dark red and usually only the middle two buttons over her stomach are done up. It has a high collar and long sleeves that are tight enough against her not to flap around but won't restrict her movement. At the back of the coat it stretches down to her knees rather than her waist and it is split into two tails. The tails are triangular in shape and are edged in black.
On her lower half she wears a pair of tight dress trousers. These trousers are generally plain but black in colour. She usually wears them because they keep her modest, don't restrict her movements and are comfy enough and warm enough that she doesn't get uncomfortable. On the days that it is either too warm to wear trousers she wears a simple ruffled skirt in black to keep her apparently very young modesty intact even while charging through a city via the rooftops.
Her feet when out and about are covered in a pair of heavy leather boots that are tied tightly around the ankle so that they are comfortable and won't fall enough no matter how much running around she does. Under this is of course the usual hose (worn with the skirt too) and these are always in soft black fabric to keep her comfy.
Keeping her trousers up when in use is a sash of purple fabric tied into a large bole knot just to her left hip and off to the side. The twin ends of the fabric travel down to her knees and flap freely in the wind while on her right hip and side are a series of pouches full of her various contraptions and weapons that she uses while in combat.
Last but most certainly not least... She does indeed have a cape. This cloak stretches from her ankles and reaches down to her ankles, only just being held off of the ground so that she won't trip over it while in movement and it won't get in the way otherwise. This cloak is always in black although usually with dark red, dark green, dark purple or gold filigree and highlights around the edge of the hood and actual cloak. The outside of the cloak has been treated to be waterproof whilst the inside is usually the same colour as the filigree and is velvet to keep in the heat.
Personality Information Personality Description: - Lucid:
The times when Niece gets to act like this are few and far between, her mind seemingly preferring to stay in a deluded state rather than actually awakening to the world around her. When it does happen though she does change quite dramatically, almost becoming another person, becoming the person that she would've been had she grown up normal.
She becomes what could be described as a realist. She sees the world as it truly is without any form of odd bias. There is no true good and evil in the world, only people trying to survive. While like this it's difficult to persuade her to fight and she prefers to simply sit and think or put her mind to work by creating whatever comes to mind although what she creates while like this is usually much less lethal and more world friendly. Perhaps she just does this to offset the other side of her, well the other side of the world that strikes out at her ninety percent of the time.
She also is generally more polite to people rather than friendly. She keeps her manners up at all times and will aid people in small tasks much more efficiently and without any stupid flair or pomp. However there is always an underlying desperation to all of her actions as though she needs to do things all of the time and as quickly as possible so that she can get more done before she goes under the magical influence once more. It might make people pity her but that just makes things worse.
While like this, one of the many things that 'sets her off' is mentioning the delusions or magic. They incite stark and painful memories that are usually buried under heavy sensory stimuli that might cause her to either become quite upset or indeed outright start bawling her eyes out. It generally becomes quite difficult to console her during this and she might leave the presence of others to be alone or will fall silent and allow the world to move around her. Such things help her focus, draw her thoughts together and realise her world view once more and bring herself back to a modicum of stability.
- Deluded:
For most of her life now, the world has been under a veneer of falsity through Niece's perceptions. The world is skewed and that means her own personality is skewed with it. When like this she sees herself as a vigilante, a force for good even with the dangerous things that she does. She truly believes this with everything that she is for while she is deluded she is very difficult to coerce.
Due to the powerful hallucinations that mar her conscience and her perceptions she is very eccentric and hyper active while like this. The world is whatever she can do with it to her and she usually dances around singing small tunes and using her cloak as a prop as she does so. It is also like this that she works best even if the creations are not her most powerful like she creates while lucid. What she creates while like this though is generally extremely lethal and dangerous, a remnant of how she used to create brought forth.
When it comes to dealing with people while the hallucinations are in full swing she becomes overly friendly and touchy. Always going in for hugs or tugging at people's clothing or even part of their body like arms or hair just to check how it feels. The more interesting the person the more likely she is to do such a thing and she has an odd fascination with Amani due to how odd they are... Baraka she doesn't much like though because the magic coming from them is too strong, the hallucinations become painful when she starts touching them. Likes: Lucid:

Niece has a very odd combat style because she cannot use any form of mana specialty or combat specialty. What she does is use her high level reflexes in addition to her high strength in order to counter attacks with random contraptions, bombs and splash potions that she appears to pull out of nowhere. In reality they are generally hidden on the inside of her cloak or inside her sleeves, ready to drop out and be put to use at any time to destroy her foes with applied HEAVY ORDINANCE! Name: Mana Crafting Class: Origin Type: Passive Description: Due to advanced schematics in her head and her innate lack of mana that is instead forced into anything that she builds, it only takes 50% of the word count normally required for Niece to build anything. This of course makes her a powerful artisan.
Name: A World of Delusion Class: Class 1 Type: Passive/Instance Description: Due to a magical mishap when she was younger, Niece has been plagued, or perhaps blessed, with extremely powerful world-view shattering hallucinations. On occasion she has found though that she can actually become lucid for a small amount of time and that her ability to craft is modified depending on her mental state. At the start of every topic (including creation and training) a d100 is rolled. On a 91+ she is lucid and is able to view the world as it truly is.
The mechanical effects of this come into her crafting. When she is deluded the schematics come to her more easily, they flow through her and allow her to build with greater efficiency than normal. As such if she is deluded when she is in a creation topic then the word count is reduced by a further 20% as she can more readily create the items.
However if she is lucid she does not get this bonus as she puts more focus into her work making it as powerful as she possibly can and as such anything that she creates is counted as one class higher than normal and has the corresponding abilities of the class that it actually becomes. This of course is very rare due to her delusions though.
Name: Mass Production Class: Class 1 Type: Passive/Instance Description: A unique ability of Niece is that she is extremely capable at creating disposables, reusable formulae and how to actually multiply the materia that she already has for use. This special ability only applies when she creates disposable items and she can choose to do one of two things. The first always occurs and means that the number of disposables created is as though it was one class weaker. (So a Class 2 consumable would get the same number as though it were a Class 3). What she can do otherwise is remove her bonus from A World of Delusion to instead create the amount of consumables as though it was two classes weaker.
Name: Manifested Madness Class: Class 1 Type: Passive Description: Now once Niece was able to just see the schematics in her head and create them, placing everything together just so to make what she wanted. Now though the delusions have twisted everything but they have also gave an interesting ability... Niece is able to create advanced technology. She isn't on par with the Child of Opes of course she cannot create electrical technology or true magitech but what she is able to create is things on par with steampunk or clockwork technology. Simple repeating rifles, clockwork soldiers and other such things like that.
Name: Crashing Step Class: Class 2 Type: Passive/Instance Description: A specialist movement type utilising her strength over her actual speed. With this she pushes off of the ground, usually leaving a large indent or crack in the earth simply due to the force of the push and it allows her to substitute her strength with her speed however she is unable to move in any direction other than straight unless she hits an object and can push off of it. Name: Magicka Sensitive Class: Class 1 Type: Passive Description: Due to the way the hallucinations affect her mind and her body, Niece has found that she is particularly sensitive to magic itself and that she suffers severely adverse effects when it strikes her. Due to this whenever she is struck by a mana technique it counts as one Class stronger as it wracks her with pain due to the proximity of mana against her body.
Name: Magicka Proximity Class: Class 1 Type: Instance Description: Now while magic hitting her directly is bad, things can get a lot worse when there is a lot of mana in the air or a lot has been expelled through the usage of spells. When a lot of mana has been used in the area it causes extreme nausea in Niece and usually leads to her ending up in extreme pain. Whenever more than 700 mana has been used in a topic or there are six or more Baraka within Mana stat meters, all of Niece's stats are halved.
Name: Magickal Exhaustion Class: Class 1 Type: Instance Description: Now as much as Niece happens to be really good at enchanting and imbuing objects with magic that rightfully she should not possess it is very dangerous for her and usually leaves her in a lot of pain and sickness. Whenever she does a Class 2 or Class 1 enchantment topic she must complete at least 3 resting posts before she is able to do another enchantment of that level.
