| About RestingA resting topic is absolutely required in order to restore your mana or stamina after you've used them in a topic. Without a resting topic, any topic you join after said topic you will start with whatever mana or stamina that you had left in the last topic. With that said, resting is an extremely important and vital aspect of role-playing on TNARP. Without resting, you will find yourself fatigued and significantly weaker than others who rest on a regular basis. Obviously there are different levels of rest and different rates of rejuvenation for resting. Keep in mind, all resting topics are required to be open to anyone. You may not make a private or invite only resting thread. [NK] tags are allowed.
The rates for resting are dependent on many factors. This includes what type of resting your character is engaging in, as well as what type of building or structure that they are resting in. For relaxing, resting while still conscious, you will regain stamina or mana (not both) at a rate of 100 points per post of relaxation. Each post must be separated by one hour of real time or by the post of another person. Whichever comes first. Sleeping will regain both mana and stamina at a rate of 250 points per post of sleeping. Each post follows the same rules as relaxation. When resting at all, doing so in a house or building is always more efficient. This can be a place owned by you, rented, or just stopping by.
When resting in a structure, depending on the class of the structure, you may increase the rate at which you regain points. For a class 5 structure, you will regain an additional 10 points per post. For a class 4 structure, you will regain an additional 20 points per post. For a class 3 structure, you will regain an additional 40 points per post. For a class 2 structure, you will regain an additional 60 points per post. Finally, for a class 1 structure, you will regain an additional 100 points per post. Once you have fully regained your mana and/or stamina, you may immediately wake up from sleeping, if you are choosing sleep as your resting method. Otherwise, you must wait for a catalyst to wake you up. | |
